Claire Holden / Head of Retail + Leisure
Every day I get to talk about the things that people choose to spend their time doing, their personal passions - whether that’s running, going to the cinema, watching TV or going on holiday. And for that, I consider myself very lucky.
Claire has worked at H+K for over 13 years and in that time has worked across a broad range of brands, but a constant across all of them has been the focus on creating an emotional connection with the consumer; why should they care about that brand, and why should they pick it over the one sitting next to it on the shelf or on the high street.
Creativity has always been the means to achieve this; ideas that garner attention, inspire the audience and drive action. Notably, Claire worked on the activation of adidas’ sponsorship of Team GB and London 2012. Through the #takethestage campaign, we made people laugh, cry, join in, and most importantly, buy. The adidas kit sold out and the work was commended through Brand of the Year, Campaign of the Year, Agency of the Year and Idea of the Year awards.
As Head of Retail + Leisure Claire leads a team of people that are equally passionate about the areas we work across; travel and tourism, fitness and wellbeing, style and entertainment, for brands such as adidas, IHG, Cineworld and LG. Like Claire, the team thrives on the pace of the retail landscape and are driven by making lifestyle brands culturally relevant.
In addition, Claire also holds a role as Creative Director, working as part of the H+K Center of Creative Strategy to further the creative agenda and drive best practice across the agency.
Outside of H+K, Claire helps to organise the TEDxBrixton project. She volunteers with a small group of people to share inspirational stories and ideas from those that live or are connected to the Brixton area. Last year the event was attended by over 600 people and streamed live to over 5000 people from venues such as The Ritzy and POP Brixton.
