What we’ve been up to: 5 February
The first week of February has been a busy one at H+K! From the announcement of the world’s largest wind farm to a glitzy night out over at the Tech team... Let’s take a look at this week’s highlights…
On Wednesday, H+K’s Energy + Industrials team supported DONG Energy, the market leaders in offshore energy, to announce that they’re building the world’s largest wind farm off the Yorkshire coast!
A whooping 1.2-gigawatt project – in layman terms that’s enough energy to be able to power more than a million UK homes!
On the first day of this mega announcement, almost 200 pieces of coverage were secured including BBC online, BBC1, ITV, Radio4, 5 Live Drive, the One Show and the FT.
And if that wasn’t enough to please you, during Prime Minister’s Questions, David Cameron said that he was “delighted with the news” - now that's something to be proud about!

Over in Florence this week the GE Oil & Gas Annual Meeting took place.
Kate Gomes & Rachel Kelly from our Energy + Industrials team attended the two-day conference which attracts over 800 customers and global media.
The two days consisted of a packed programme of keynotes, technical exchanges and leadership sessions, as well as halls showcasing cutting edge technology.
And we are proud to say that for the second year running H+K managed global media for the event!
Whilst back at our H+K offices we had a delightful Wednesday morning hosting a private Q&A breakfast event with SNP’s spokesperson for Europe, Stephen Gethins.
Discussions took place into the party’s view ahead of one of the most significant debates of this Parliament – the EU referendum. Very insightful indeed!

Now, what’s a Thursday night without some glitz and glam? (or an open bar at H+K for others)
Last night, a couple of members at the tech team enjoyed a glitzy night at InStyle’s EE Rising Star party in search for potential media partnerships for clients.
The star studded event is now in its 11th year, ahead of the BAFTA awards themselves on 14th February. There were appearances from Made in Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh, Ashley James, Rosie Fortescue, Emily Atack, and Lucy Mecklenburgh.
Also spotted at the event was Pixie Lott in a feather mini dress, as well as Maisie Williams, Downton’s Laura Carmichael, Melanie Sykes and Jonathan Ross. Or should I say Woss.
Highlights of the evening included “deconstructed gin and tonics”, a curious mixture of textures and flavours, as well as giant gin-flavoured fruit pastels.
To finish this week’s entry let’s hope this weekend is just as eventful for us all and that we can top off the giant gin-flavoured fruit pastels! Yum!
