What we've been up to this week: 24 June + Cannes news

Well, what a week. It’s been a real rollercoaster. 

First and foremost, how can we not mention our win at Cannes? A bronze Cannes Lion for our Adidas campaign “A Valentine from Adidas” in the Mobile category. We’re incredibly proud to have won such an award, particularly in a non-PR category which pays credit to the broad range of work we are doing on a daily basis. The campaign itself is a brilliant message in support of love of all kinds, if you haven’t already you can watch it on the Cannes Lions website (be quick before they take it down!).

Besides our incredible win, we also did a few other things whilst at Cannes:

  • We launched our new influencer tool called “Sherlock+”, that uses data driven insights to provide clients with a deeper understanding of how consumers and audiences behave online.
  • Vikki Chowney joined the C-suite podcast to talk about Sherlock+ and how we have utilised it to help clients reach new audiences.
  • Our H+Kers on the ground in Cannes took over our main homepage. Check out what they got up to over the week - reporting back from the coolest presentations (definitely Will Smith), checking out the work on display at the exhibitions and sipping rose alongside the creative geniuses of the Ad world.
  • Our creative director Simon Shaw gave an overview of Cannes 2016 and the trends he had picked up on at this year’s festival.

Back in our London HQ, Snapchat was on the table this week for our Technology Speculators session. We discussed how we have used the most-talked about social media tool of the moment in our recent campaigns; looking at its benefits and challenges.

This week Energy + Idustrials team members have been working on the communications for Slide, a shared ride to work service launching in Bristol next month. Developed by RATP Dev, an urban transport operator and existing E+I client, Slide allows customers to book a ride from their location at their preferred time via an app. This week we successfully launched Slide’s social media campaign – follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and let your friends and family in Bristol know!

On Friday, we woke up to a very different UK post-referendum vote. Our Public Affairs team have been following developments and gauging the reaction from all sides. We’ll have more analysis and insights over the next week, so make sure you check back regularly.
