
Briar is the Director of Training at H+K. A former BBC News journalist, she is a highly-experienced communications coach specialising in presentation and interview technique and delivery.
Having spent nearly a decade working in newsrooms, followed by a decade in corporate communications, Briar has a uniquely-blended skill set. This enables her to offer highly effective training that equips her clients with the necessary tools to successfully explain, promote and defend their corporate strategy. She has worked with senior executives ahead of significant media and publicity milestones, as well as during moments of crisis – including product recalls and business closures.
Her approach is not one-size fits all, rather producing bespoke sessions which are adapted to suit the needs of each client – whether they have a wealth of previous media experience, or none. Carefully adapting to the needs of our changing world, she delivers engaging, interactive and impactful training sessions in-person or in a virtual format.
Briar has trained executives from companies including adidas, GSK, Givaudan, Haleon, Microsoft, P&G, Shell, Spotify, Microsoft, Visa and Walgreens Boots Alliance. She has also trained and directed corporate press office teams in the UK and globally for Mars, Pearson and Coca-Cola. Her experience covers a wide range of sectors including energy, manufacturing, finance, technology, FMCG, retail, hospitality, travel, and media & entertainment.
Briar has a degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Central England.
