For our most recent Big Night In, we swapped our usual pizzas for Chinese food for an early Chinese New Year celebration. The Tech team‘s takeover focused on their work with Huawei, with Tyler and Alison recounting their work trip to Shanghai. They invited a group of consumer technology influencers to enjoy the city.

The Sports Marketing + Sponsorship team has been shortlisted twice at the BT Sports Industry Awards. Their work with adidas and the Tango Squad campaign has reached the final round in the Digital Community of the Year category, while HSBC‘s Sevens from Heaven short documentary film to promote rugby sevens has been shortlisted in the Film Content of the Year category.
The Consumer-Packaged Goods team in collaboration with SMARTER, H+K’s behavioural science unit, has also been shortlisted for its work with Duracell for a PR Moment award and PR Week Global Awards. To positively influence recycling habits through the use of behavioural insights, the team created the Big Battery Hunt, a recycling challenge set across 40 schools around the UK.
As part of World Radio Day, Emma from our sports team participated in a panel discussion at SOAS University alongside sports broadcasters on whether the media has forgotten the social values of sport.

Back at the H+K London office, we hosted two events: a panel discussion hosted by the PRCA with BBC and CNBC journalists and producers on technology opportunities in broadcasting, and a Technology Spectator session with Vamp, an influencer marketing and content creation platform.
This week, healthcare team member Rebecca Bonnar sought out the sun in South Africa for a client photoshoot. Luckily the crew were blessed with great weather over the four day shoot and on the final morning the first shot of the day was framed by an awe-inspiring double rainbow over the mountains of Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Working with 16 models ranging from 3-weeks old to 72 years of age, it wasn’t without its challenges but it has generated some gorgeous, playful and quirky images for the client’s lead campaign!

Last week, the H+K Tech team attended the Marie Claire conference #womankind to mark Marie Claire’s 30th birthday year. The conference explores why 2018 will be the year of  Womankind, celebrating the collective power of women to create, to inspire, to challenge and to change the world.
