We were very saddened to learn of the passing, last week, of Marie Louise Windeler, former MD and CEO of H+K London.

Marie Louise was pivotal to the evolution of the London office, helping to steer its future over 20 years from the mid-1980s to mid-2000s.

Initially head of consumer PR, her energy and drive took that side of the business to ever greater levels of success, confounding industry commentators year after year.  So it was a natural move for her later to take on the leadership of the agency as a whole.

Here in H+K London, and across the world, many of us to this day remember Marie Louise with great affection and gratitude.  Her quick wit, direct style, and lively personality were such a driving force in the agency.  We will be sharing our personal stories of working with her for many years to come.

And Marie Louise’s legacy at the agency lives on.  One of her most significant contributions was hiring back Richard Millar as marketing director in 2004.  He, in turn, became UK CEO, transforming H+K London into a sector-led, creative centre before his recent promotion to global president.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marie Louise’s family.
