We are over half-way through the year and on the tail end of the hottest summer in 15 years, so what can we show for it so far?
The month of July not only saw the world come together for the FIFA World Cup but the 2018 Wimbledon Championships stole the hearts of many with Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber taking home the single titles.
In the lead up to the FIFA World Cup, H+K and adidas set off the heatwave with a fire starting, trail-blazing internet debate – the announcement of Leo Messi as ‘The Greatest Player of All Time’. To land such a cultural moment of impact adidas partnered with Paper magazine, famous for making unmissable statements in popular culture.
But we didn’t stop there. The Sports team also worked with adidas to highlight their partnership with Mo Salah by placing his boot in the British Museum. This action not only received star coverage on The Sun and the BBC but also sparked a debate around modern day perceptions of Egypt within Western culture.
Our Financial and Professional services team also caught the FIFA fever with the brilliant idea of staging a stunt at Southgate station just in time for the return of Gareth Southgate and our national team. Working on behalf of Visa – our longstanding client – the team had 48 hours to plan and execute the activity, which involved re-branding the tube station to say ‘Gareth Southgate’. The activity also included a flash mob on site and media engagement, with both the BBC and Sky filming on location.
With our client Haagen-Dazs as the official ice cream sponsor for Wimbledon 2018, the Food + Drink team devised a multi-faceted communication plan involving a partnership with Grigo Dimitrov and a consumer experiential pop-up. The pop-up took place at The Women’s Tennis Associations’ Tennis On The Thames event where Haagen-Dazs received endorsement from U.S champion Sloane Stephens. The partnership with Dimitrov involved the launch of limited-edition stick bar, cooks and cream where the brand asked the nation where they stood: #teamcookies or #teamstrawberries.
For the Healthcare team, it was all aboard as they received boarding passes for their upcoming trip to IDEAS ISLAND. The ideation training session is part of a series so that our Healthcare team is always at the forefront of creative and innovative ideas. Think Hawaiian getaway meets H+K Healthcare, the team are ready to escape to create and understand why ideas matter. Aloha!
