The WPP Ford Corporate team were treated to a tour of the factory floor at one of Ford’s centres of excellence, the Dagenham Engine Plant, to see first-hand how Ford is producing world-leading, technically-innovative power units for a dynamic global market. The team were given an informative presentation about the history and importance of the Dagenham site, and its 80 year legacy of contributing to the local community as well as the wider UK industry and that of Europe. We were then taken around the production line for Ford’s latest EcoBlue engine, which offers optimised fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 and NOX emissions for customers, using sophisticated technologies and innovative design.

Thursday evening, our Candace Kuss and Emma Wright joined 15 other fast talking speakers at the second annual WPP Stella Ignite Show. Held at Google Town Hall, the umbrella topic was Technology. Candace, a founding member of the Stella Advisory Board, talked about Augmented Empathy and acted as MC, while Emma gave an engaging Ignite on the power of Technology to bring the different passions in her life together. WPPStella is the female leadership group connecting women across the network. Search iTunes or SoundCloud for their new podcast series: WPPStella Conversations.

Highlights from D&AD Festival 2017: This week, H+Kers have had the pleasure of exploring some of the best design work created over the last year, as well as attend seminars by design and advertising industry luminaries, such as Stefan Sagmeister, David Shrigley, Marina Willer, and one of our collaborators, illustrator Mr. Bingo. Three jam-packed days of workshops, tutorials, demos, talks and master classes have left us inspired and refreshed. It was also hugely motivating to see some of our own work in the line-up. Perhaps there will be a pencil in store for us next year?
