Our E+I team have been supporting E.ON on releasing some brand new research, revealing the UK’s most hated chore and what couples are most likely to argue about in the home. Isobel Knight from E+I went along to feedback on the day. Sarah Walker-Jones, head of the smart hub, and Juliet Landau-Pope, professional life coach, had a radio day this week where they advised how smart technology and honest communication can help people avoid those ‘chore-wars’.

Our FPS team has had a busy month supporting Skipton’s Take a Pause campaign. Our aim was to encourage Brits to think about their long term thinking and financial planning. To do this we partnered with psychologist and best-selling author, Professor Richard Wiseman, and conducted research on this topic to understand the psychology behind why we procrastinate when it comes to our finances and offer techniques to tackle it. This research allowed us to identify the optimal amount of time for a ‘financial pause’, (40 minutes, at least 2.7 times a week) and found that we spend longer making a cup of tea than looking at our finances! We arranged a media sell-in to personal finance writers, social affairs writers and newsdesks as well as organising a radio day to spread the word and get people thinking about their life ahead. The campaign resulted in national, trade and consumer pieces of coverage including in the Daily Mirror, The Sun, Yahoo Finance & Daily Record.

Our Candace Kuss (who started her career as an art director) was delighted to go to Dublin this week to judge both the Print and the PR categories in the Cannes Young Lions scheme for Ireland. Run by the IAPI, the trade association and professional institute for Irish agencies, this is the first year they’ve added PR, but already it attracted more teams than entered the Print category. H+K is a huge believer in the power of the Young Lions program and Candace is chuffed to also be on the jury for the global Young Lions in June at Cannes. Good luck everyone.
